A May fire swept through cottages on the Urg camp grounds near Linden Mott in Pennsylvania. Winds fanned embers under porches, burning several structures and threatening the large grove. Firefighters from miles away failed to contain the blaze, with losses estimated by the camp association officers at about $20.
Bids for construction of about 70 miles of improved highway were opened by the State Highway Department today. The total of low bids reached 4 692 061.8 percent amid an unusually large turnout of contractors. Most projects drew bids, with outside-state firms submitting estimates for larger mileage work. Bids will be checked and awards announced later. Indiana county project bids listed: Turrell township 11,617 feet Clark Construction Company Thast ings SILTA. The Newberry case is noted as reducing Michigan’s Senate representation, seen as a step toward normalcy. Norway population given as 2,616,806.
