Indianapolis May 12 The United Mineworkers Journal this week prints Theodore Roosevelt’s views on the J J McNamara case in an editorial by Michael Halapy. Roosevelt is called a false apostle and accused of prostituting his influence to the National Manufacturers’ Association. The piece condemns Roosevelt for meddling in the McNamara case and aligning with labor’s enemies against union leaders and miners.
In Cleveland on May 1 the Ohio State Medical Association committee opened actions to pass a bill in the legislature requiring every prospective bridegroom to pass a medical examination before applying for a marriage license. The American Civil Reform Bureau will assist the committee to secure passage.
