Master stroke seals Ostend harbor closure
London reports British aviators photographed Ostend harbor confirming Munday's enterprise against the submarine base succeeded and the fair way is closed. The obsolete cruiser Vindictive, sunk at the harbor entrance, was crewed by 42 volunteers including a lieutenant commander and four engine men who had been part of the Zeebrugge raid as German shore batteries opened fire.

Allied Line Advances Near Ypres Nab German Air Losses
London May 11 Allied forces pushed northeast of Loere five miles from Ypres on the West Flanders front after a storm attack carried by French troops. The village was recently seized in the assault.
