Grant School ended its term on Thursday May tth 1926 with a large crowd of citizens. The afternoon featured races flag drill readings songs and the school newspaper The Little Mahoning Bee Monthly. Prizes were awarded and the winner received a valuable cuff set. New parochial school construction on Was Main Street for St David's parish was noted.

A second alarm at 4 30 p m hit the mortuary rear on East Market Street where buckets and water from a private garage kept flames in check until firefighters arrived.
