Lusitania sinking witnessed before disaster unfolds

Report from London describes the Lusitania launch on that side carrying women and children who were swept to their deaths as the ship plowed forward. Two stokers jumped in to rescue drifting passengers, pulling nearly 40 survivors from the sea. Alfred Vanderbilt was seen on deck removing his life belt to help a woman before vanishing as the liner sank.

Palmers Tied to Robbery. One in Jail

Pal mers, continued from page one, are in custody with a revolver linked to the crime. Miss Goldie Palmer was arrested but released on recognition, cleared of involvement. Warrants remain in effect as officers search for the suspects. most stolen items recovered. Blairsville officials lament a recent string of escapes.

Bounty Act Provisions for Skin Claims and Fees

Violin Net Sells For 19500 At Red Cross Sale

A Stradivarius presented by Lord Newhinds to the Red Cross sale in London realized 19500. It was first sold to Lady Wernher for 12500, then reoffered and bought by Mr Brandt after further bidding. The record surpassed the Messiah violin of 1718 that fetched 10600 fifty years ago from Count Cozio di Salabue.
