Crowley Sentenced to Fastest Route to Electric Chair
Francis Crowley the 20 year old killer known as Two Gun Crowley is bound for the electric chair after an indictment for first degree murder in the death of Patrolman Frederick Hirsch. He was wounded in three places and moved from Bellevue to Nassau hospital Mineola for treatment. His 16 year old sweetheart Helen Walsh was captured with him in the Manhattan apartment raid and is being held at the Nassau jail as prosecutors plan a trial set for next week.

An eight year old pupil named Leland Belame staggered ten blocks on a fractured ankle to warn teachers after a Santa Fe freight train struck a school bus at the G street crossing. The disaster killed five children, injured 23, and left 19 with minor injuries as others were trapped or crushed.
