John K R Caldwell of Windber visited town with his new Packard auto. Miss Nancy Grallier of Latrobe is visiting with relatives. Rev W G Moffat spent days in Pittsburgh. Mr and Mrs Wid Wirrgins of Vandergrift visit at the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs Jesse Motias, in Armstrong County. Mrs Vernell, who died, is remembered at the Windber home of her son. Frank Russ travels for Studebaker and spent Sunday at his home here. M Caldwell of Wandber visited today.
A meeting of the Centennial Cascade committee is called for tomorrow evening at 7 30 in the Court House. Neahers are urged to attend and be present. Washington mile.
Harrisburg May 8 news reports that Adjutant General Thomas J. Stewart announced no camp of instruction for infantry officers this year due to funding shortages. Brigades and support units will still camp at Mount Gretna Erie Tobyhanna Belvoir Virginia and other sites with dates in July and August.

Miss Fanny Brody of Church Street hosted a birthday party Sunday evening with guests from Punxsutawney Rassiter DuBois and Altoona. The event featured a tasty luncheon to conclude the enjoyable gathering at the Brody residence.
The Moody Bible Institute of Chicago will conduct the Bible conference at Mountain Lake Park Maryland again this year under Rev James M Gray from August 15 to 20. Due to last year’s success the Institute was unanimously invited to oversee the event with a program featuring renowned Bible teachers and preachers to be announced later.
