Income tax changes urged by accountants group
The American Institute of Accountants urged higher income taxes and a revised method for taxing undistributed corporate profits to Congress. They proposed keeping existing corporate taxes with a possible surcharge and a windfall tax on refunded processing taxes faced by a Detroit meat packer opposed to the windfall tax. They also called for lower personal exemptions and a higher normal rate, and supported tax free life insurance to cover estate taxes.
