Approval of Land Sale for Scout Headquarters in Pittsburgh

Man Killed In Butler Area Crash

A head on crash on Route 8 five miles north of Butler killed Nickolas Hatala 44 of Pittsburgh and injured six others. Hatala’s son Nickolas R 18 and Edward J Tabisz 40 of Gibsontown were critical. Tabisz’s 14 year old son Edward was fair. Other driver Arthur L Morrow 28 of West Sunbury R D 2 was in serious condition. Passenger Patrick B Hayden 38 of West Sunbury R D 1 and William Waldenmyer 28 of West Sunbury R D 1 were in fair and critical condition respectively, with Waldenmyer transferred to Pittsburgh hospital.

Retiring Indiana Junior High principal marks 42 years

Lambert Joseph of Indiana Junior High will retire next month after a 42 year education career, 40 in Indiana schools. A banquet at Rustic Lodge honored him with plaques and gifts from the Indiana Area Education Association. He began teaching in 1924 at Kiski Prep, earned degrees from Bucknell and West Virginia Univ, and founded the school newspaper in 1927.

Tahoe Paradise College to open in motel near Tahoe Basin

In South Lake Tahoe California the Tahoe Paradise College plans to enroll 200 students in the fall. The four year coed institution will be housed in the Tahoe Paradise Motel at Echo Summit about four miles south of Lake Tahoe. Students will live in motel rooms with no larger rooms used for classes.
