The Mothers of Democracy host a covered dish dinner Friday evening May 7 at 6 30 in Memorial Hall. Please bring a covered dish sandwiches and table service. World War I Mothers are invited as honor guests of War II Mothers. A regular business meeting follows at 7 30 with a program in honor of Mothers Day.
Mrs Sally Ray of North Sixth street is a Latrobe Hospital patient after undergoing an operation this morning. The Ray family is listed as her relatives.

Mr and Mrs Joseph P Coulson announce the birth of a daughter Donna Jo born April 23 in Indiana Hospital weighing six pounds five ounces. Dinner price 125 dollars.

The Johnstown Health Department reported yesterday that 16 year old Helen Rushtok of Arcas Ida is a patient in the Municipal Isolation Hospital. She is listed as a birth announcement from Prospect, where she is being treated for meningitis.

The Ladies Auxiliary to the Fraternal Order of Eagles will meet in the lodge rooms at 22 North Fifth Street on Thursday evening May 8 at 8:00. Officers will be elected at this time. Polls will be open from 6:00 P M to 8:00 P M for those unable to attend.
Mr and Mrs Charles Mason announce the birth of a daughter on Sunday May 4 at Indiana Hospital. This is the Mason family's first daughter, joining two sons Jimmy and Billy. The mother is Katherine Bartley, daughter of Mrs Harry Bartley of South Tenth Street. Mr Smith serves as pastor of Plummerville Sagamore and Atwood Presbyterian Churches.
Mr and Mrs Raul Gromley of Homer City and Mr and Mrs Philip Reed of Greensburg joined the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester Virginia on Thursday May 1. The group also toured Skyline Drive to Richmond and returned home on Sunday.

Bucharest May 5. The Communist government announced arrests of opposition figures suspected of conspiracy to sabotage and overthrow the regime. Interior Ministry said security police detained several persons for incitement to revolt and subversive activity, with inquiries ongoing and suspects to be handed to the tribunals.
