Rail clerk sentenced for $20,000 theft and arson link

William Ti he, a railway clerk, was sentenced to three years in prison after confessing to stealing $20,000 from the United States on July 4, 3912. He claimed funds came from the gig barge pocket and that he used the money for stock trades and lifting goods. He restituted about 600 after selling his home. A timber tract near Fleming was reported destroyed by fire in the same brief notice.

Metehor Bracken of Johns town died Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock after a long debility. He was 80 and a carpenter who served as class leader and on the church board since 1868. Survived by his second wife Anna McKeaters and a daughter Laura Young. funeral tomorrow at 3 with Rev. Everett Burnett at his home, Grandview cemetery. Mrs Mary L Adams, widow of Reed Adams, died Monday evening on N Fifth Street. obituary to be published in Wednesday Gaette.

Lacolle Coal Company Expands Near Bolivar

Jelke and others sentenced in tax fraud case

In Chicago on May 4, seven defendants tied to the Jelke company were fined 2400 each by Judge Geiger in the U S District Court for conspiring to defraud the government with falsely labeled oleomargarine.
