Gatty Sellars Delights Indiana Audience With Organ Recital

Gatty Sellars presented a varied organ program last evening at the First United Presbyterian Church. The crowd enjoyed The March of Nations and The Storm set to Lucern Cathedral, two own compositions, plus two pieces using the Cathedral Chimes. Miss Mary Jamison led the choir with creditable pipe work as Sellars delivered both classical and modern selections in an engaging if not peak performance.

Infant dies from pneumonia after measles attack

Charles Quinton Stiles, 18 months old, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Stiles of Dilltown, died Monday evening from pneumonia superinduced by measles. Funeral services and interment were held today.

Mrs Margaret Coy a well known resident of Indiana received a birthday card shower last Saturday with over 200 cards. Kathryn Moorhead of South Fifth Street left for a northern and western trip this morning aboard the B R and P line bound for Elmira New York. She expects to be away about six weeks.

Rioters Clash at Edgar Thomson Works Amid Citywide Disorder

In Braddock and Rankin a day of unrest culminated in a riot at the Edgar Thomson steel plant. About 2,000 citizens sworn as deputies patrolled streets as rioters attacked plant facilities, injured workers, and wounded two deputies. Foreigners reported killed, and DA BR H Jackson moves to deport those tied to the trouble. Deputies and guards returned fire from riot guns and revolvers, with snipers targeting them from doorways. The mob was eventually driven back, then returned to clash twice more before retreating as plant authorities held the line.

Deputies Battle Mob at Westinghouse Plants Fight Ends in Retreat

Deputies on guard at Westinghouse facilities in Wilmerding and East Pittsburgh were sent to the scene. They fought their way to the sides of fellow deputies as attackers pressed inward. After a several minute clash the mob was forced from the plant gates and compelled to seek shelter behind the walls.

Fire from high angle guns and British acroplains are believed to have damaged the German Zeppelins that took part in the raid over Northeastern England and the southeast, as reported in London on May 3.
