Parade Under Red Flag Suppressed by Chicago Police
Chicago May 2 two hundred men calling themselves Socialists attempted a march under the red flag but were prevented by police. Five dozen officers watched a now tense scene at Michigan and North Clark streets where the parade formed its flags were to be rolled. The group dwindled to about 40 as they moved to Douglas Park five miles away. Edward Wladzimski unfurled a flag at Congress and Ogden and was arrested as officers drew revolvers to deter further action and warned to fire if needed.
