Blue Shield Needs Names Addresses Missing Signatures

John A. Taylor, Social Security District Manager in Indiana, reports Blue Shield, the Medicare doctor bill payments carrier, has seen delays when beneficiaries omit signatures or addresses on claim forms. Beneficiaries should bring forms and receipts to social security offices or mail them in, including a telephone number for contact if needed.

Freak air fall kills Glenview man over Wyoming

A Glenview Illinois man, George Graves, 52, died after a United Airlines Boeing 720 encountered a downdraft and struck his head when the plane fell from about 37 000 feet over eastern Wyoming. The flight, from Port Land to Chicago, made an unscheduled Casper landing. Graves released his seat belt during turbulence and was fatally injured. Passengers were diverted to Denver. doctors and Blue Shield payment issues delayed reimbursement for his hospital bills.

Girard Will Backers Seek Help

A Philadelphia delegation arrived in Harrisburg with petitions totaling 200000 signatures urging state officials to drop involvement in the Girard College case. The NAACP seeks opening of the school to Black students, while groups insist the case centers on a man’s will and not civil rights.

Homer Center High School Honor Society Adds Seven Members

Homer City students at Homer Center High School form the National Honor Society. Eleven seniors and five sophomores are inducted in a special assembly with a reception for students and parents. Court-ordered injunction blocks Air Force transfer of Noyd

The case centers on Capt. Dale E Noyd who seeks to block a transfer from the Air Force Academy to other duties. An injunction remains in effect until a court rules on the suit. About 18 000 members support 100 local on air newsmen in Los Angeles New York and Chicago against NBC CBS ABC Radio and Television and Mutual Radio. Base salary demands 325 weekly. networks offer 300. Fees call for 50 percent of commercial fees per on camera appearance until base is matched then all fees. Networks counter at 13 percent first 18 months and 25 percent after. Benefits seek better overtime assignments automation and union promotions on network FM stations. Current salaries range 225 to 350 weekly with some incomes up to 800 including fees. Networks cite 2000 yearly cost per worker versus 10000 national figure. union hasn t provided its estimate.
