Former state official Anthony J. Trucco admitted in federal court to illegally taking a $72,000 share of commissions on a state fleet insurance policy. Eighty Escape Lehighton Fire

About 80 people were left homeless after a general alarm fire in Lehighton Carbon County Pennsylvania caused an estimated 500000 in damages. No serious injuries were reported and the cause was not immediately known. The homes struck were in a block slated for demolition under a redevelopment plan.

Dairy price supports rise to lift butter and cheese costs

The Agriculture Department will raise purchase prices for surplus dairy to lift milk support, starting April 1. Aultman Men Hurt In Crash

James Getty 24 of Aultman is in serious condition at Indiana Hospital after a one car crash on Route 286 near Kent. Passenger James Pepple 21 also of Aultman was driving at high speed when the loss of control caused the car to roll over. Both were treated. Getty underwent surgery. Damage to the car was about 400 dollars.

Saltsburg Crash Cuts Power at Brink Curve

A car driven by James Pless, 20, failed to navigate Route 286 Brink Curve near Saltsburg at 1 36 a m. It sheared a utility pole and damaged a hedge, triggering a transformer incident and a wide blackout in Saltsburg and adjacent towns. Power was restored shortly before 11 a m. No damage estimate was released. Police note a similar crash about a month earlier at the Brink residence.
