Morgan's partner George W. Perkins, of J. P. Morgan & Co., was arrested in New York on a grand larceny charge. The warrant alleges his role in diverting 48,702.50 from New York Life Insurance funds to Cornelius N Bliss, treasurer of the Republican national committee in 1904.
