Iselin youths held for court in dynamiting case

George Rokosky aged 15 and Frank Andrei aged 13 of Taclin were held for Juvenile Court after a Saturday hearing for placing dynamite under porches of three Iselin homes. They allegedly obtained seven sticks, placed fuses without caps, and sent a boy for matches while planning revenge against residents.

Death clears an old mystery in Leechburg area

Leecherburg March 26 William Spiker disappeared from Geary Hollow near Markle 28 years ago with no word. The 51 year old died of pneumonia in Minneapolis and rests beside his parents in Markle’s Lutheran Cemetery. His death ends a long family vigil and mystery.

Two Injuries From Automobiles ReportedNear Greensburg

Velma Jean Brewer eight of Slickville admitted to Westmoreland Hospital Greensburg for head injuries and a right shoulder injury after being struck by a car near her home. Antonio Spear twenty eight of New Alexandria transported to Westmoreland Hospital early yesterday with facial and body injuries from a motorcycle crash on the Greensburg New Alexandria road. His condition is satisfactory.

Yatesboro Woman Dead After Illness

Salvatore Caputo also known as Mike Ross, 63, confessed to shooting his wife Ose Caputo, 42, mother of six, in Smethport after jealous quarrels. Police reported two bullets struck her as she pleaded, an inquest was set for 7:30 PM. Caputo was jailed in Olean on first degree murder charges. Neighbors say the couple’s marital strain began after their marriage and Caputo’s jealousy over his wife’s alleged relations.

Southwestern camp of United Spanish War Veterans organized in Johnstown

A Southwestern camp of the United Spanish War Veterans of Pennsylvania was organized at the American Legion rooms in Johnstown with about 35 members from Altoona Johnstown Tyrone Indiana Uniontown and New Kensington. The next meeting will be in Tyrone on April 22 with leaders including Dr. L. F. Crawford CG McLain H. W. Fee and C. Harris present. Scout Campaign Reports Strong County Response for Indiana

General Chairman F E E Hewitt said county chairmen show a very good response for Scouting maintenance in Indiana County. Clymer reports progress toward the goal and near completion for the remaining prospects, with Binksville sending 20 percent of its goal. Commodore area edges toward its target while Homer City awaits a midweek burst. Mining towns allocate much of the $20,000 goal, delaying full reports for a few weeks. Thomas H. Sheehe urges final reports by Thursday to secure Indiana within easy reach of the goal.

Berkey Boyds Brother Dead in Scottdale

Homer Boyd a longtime Scottdale resident died Saturday afternoon at 2:15. His brother Berkey H. Boyd former secretary of property and supplies under Governor Pinchot died three and a half months earlier. Funeral services will be at 2:30 Tuesday from his sister Mrs. D R Coughenour's home, with burial in Scottdale cemetery. Boy 16 on Trial in Pittsburgh Murder Case

The youngest Allegheny County murder defendant, Alvin Hess, 16, was to be arraigned for killing an unnamed man, about 45, along the Monongahela River between Glenwood and Browns Bridges. Drop Of Water To Kill a Two In Denver This Week

Colorado's unique water execution method will be used twice at Canon City state penitentiary this week to execute Ray Noakes and Arthur Osborn for slaying Fred N Selak. A platform above the floor lowers the condemned onto a trap, water drops trigger a pulley system, and a heavy weight drops to cause death. Selak was a hermit. Osborn and Noakes were connected to his murder.
