Pentagon survey cites housing discrimination at many bases
A Pentagon ordered survey found housing discrimination against Negro servicemen at about 90 percent of U S bases. only 31 of 305 bases received a clean bill. Alfred Fitts said progress came via negotiation, easing off base schooling, transport, and access to parks and libraries. No future policy was outlined.
