Comrade and Mrs. W. J. Calhoun of Livermore marked their sixty third anniversary. Mr. Calhoun, 87, wed Christina Frye in 1866. she is 85. Calhoun served in Company G of the Sixty third Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. They are parents of seven great grandchildren, with daughters who helped at a quiet wedding dinner. Israel Salsgiver 34 of Munhall near Pittsburgh, formerly of Indiana, was killed Saturday when a gas tank used for welding at Homestems plant of Carnegie Steel exploded. The blast shook a five mile radius and halted work in the department. The gas, of unusual strength, is used only in heavy work. The body was shipped for burial and funeral services were held at 11 am in the Christian Church led by Rev. F. Richard Eaton. An obituary will follow.
