Harrisburg March 25. Pennsylvania joined states allowing marriage licenses to issue at sixteen with special authorization. Governor John S. Fisher approved a bill championed by Senator Augustus F. Daix permitting courts to grant licenses to couples not yet sixteen under special circumstances.

An 80000 trust fund was set aside for his two grandchildren, daughters of Rev John Oldham of Martinsburg W Va.

James M Stewart, Civil War veteran and head of The Big Warehouse, was honored at a family dinner in the Rose Tea Room on the eve of his 88th birthday. Guests included sons Ernest Stewart and Alexander M Stewart and their families, with James illegible due to illness.
