Ormond Fla March 24 Barney Oldfield in a Benz car set new two mile and kilometer records on the Daytona Beach sand course. He covered two miles in 55.88 seconds beating Victor Demegeot who did 58.25 in a 200 horsepower machine. The kilometer was run in 1 minute 74.1 seconds, surpassing Hemery’s prior mark.
