Indian Aide Named To Aid Senecas

Secretary of the Interior Udall appoints Sidney M. Carney to work with the Seneca Indians of New York on issues from the Kinzua Dam project. Carney, of Choctaw and Creek descent, will bas e headquarters in Salamanca, the first Indian Bureau employee stationed in New York since 1949. The dam on the Allegheny River will back water into New York, covering more than 9,000 acres of Allegany Seneca land. Congress has funded the dam, and in 1959 the Supreme Court declined to hear litigation to halt the project.

Castro says invasion prisoners trial ends tractor offer

Bandits Rob Bank Branch After Quick-Thinking Teller

Louisville AP report says two young bandits robbed a bank branch Friday of about 200 dollars. A quick-thinking teller shoved a bag containing 4000 nickels weighing 45 pounds at the bandits when asked for the money. Manager Gilbert Hauck noted the coins likely misled the robbers into thinking it was a large haul.

Navy Plane With 10 Men Aboard Missing

SEATTLE Wash AP a Navy plane with 10 men aboard was missing after engine trouble on a flight to California. The P2V Lockheed Neptune patrol bomber was last seen disappearing into heavy overcast about 23 miles southwest of Mount St Helena in southwestern Washington near 55 miles from the coast.

Plane search narrows in Navy incident near Portland

In Oregon near Portland authorities continued a search for a missing aircraft returning to its home base. The vessel and crew were from Alameda California and Whidby with mountains in the area reaching 4000 to 6000 feet. Cloudy weather hindered aerial search and the men aboard remained unnamed by the information office.

Hays Cleared to Correct Nomination Petitions

In Harrisburg Democratic State Senator Jo Hays of Centre County secured court permission to amend his nominating petitions for re nomination in the May 15 primary. Judge William H.
