Nurse Hangs by Collar Button in Jamaica Hospital Incident

Miss Mary Brodie, a nurse at Bt. Mary's Hospital in Jamaica, Jamaica, nearly died when she became suspended by a collar button while assisting a patient who had just undergone appendicitis surgery. The button broke, freeing her after about twelve to fifteen minutes as she struggled to breathe and free herself from the springs, then crawled out from under the patient and reported the incident to the head nurse.

Washington earns report that Mrs. Sarah Ewing who arranged her own grave marker in West Alexander cemetery died Friday. In Uniontown, a $20,000 suit against Pennsylvania Railroad alleges Mrs. Anderson was injured when a train jerk started while she stood on the steps. In Philadelphia the body of William E. McLean, 22, Princeton graduate, found on Pennsylvania Railroad tracks after an express struck him. George Ackerman of Marlon, a dry election advocate, campaigns for a fall local option vote. In Sharon, a Mercer Valley Railroad suit by Wh am 1. Pharmpson for $10,000 ended when epileptic attack halted testimony and the case settled.
