William Boyd Dies Suddenly in Hollywood Hospital

Hollywood March 21 William Boyd stage and screen actor died suddenly in a hospital just before midnight. Stricken with gastric hemorrhages he was rushed from his Hollywood Hills home and blood transfusions failed to save him. Known as Slage Boyd to distinguish him from another actor he came to films with talking pictures after Broadway success. He appeared in Trans Atlantic Merry Go Round among late screen roles. Born in New York 45 years ago his first stage showing was Peter Pan and he also acted in What Price Glory which he regarded as his greatest stage work.

Widow of Murdered Man Identifies Suspect in Fatal Uniontown Shooting

In Uniontown a 46 year old widow testified that the man who shot her husband in their Masontown home was John W. Kozier. She described a violent struggle as two guns were fired. her husband Samson Rosenshein died after collapsing near the stairs. The commonwealth seeks the electric chair. Kozier’s defense indicated no cross examination and unclear grounds.

Twenty of seventy five spectators at a cock fight raided by police near Uniontown were jailed today for nonpayment of fines. Each owed ten dollars and must serve twenty days. Fifty three men who posted bail failed to appear in court.
