First B-29s Start Trip To Europe

The first batch of about 75 American B-29s takes off for Britain under the Arms Aid Program to strengthen Western Europe's defenses. Four bombers with American crews leave Andrews Field bound for a British airbase. the long range planes are marketed as medium bombers for future service.

Detours Listed Effective March 21 for Snyder County Routes

Harrisburg reports detours for autos and trucks starting March 21 during Route 11 and 15 construction in Snyder County. Small vehicles under 10 ft 6 in traverse Route 14 from Clarks Ferry Bridge east to Sunbury, a 43 mile span. Large trucks over 10 ft 6 in follow U S 22 and U S 322 from Amity Hall to Thompsontown via reroutes toward Cocolamus, Mt Measant Mills, Middleburg, and Selinsgrove, totaling 55 miles from Clarks Ferry Bridge west. Major leaguers Babe Ruth and two-time MVPs Jimmy Foxx and Hal Newhouser are noted for repeated MVP wins.

Special Tribute to All Scouters at Dinner Event
