Aviator signaling networks to guide US air routes planned

International News Service reports plans for a nationwide system of field markers and signs to guide aviators from Hempstead Plains to Oyster Bay and other locations. Co operated by aero clubs and geodetic surveys, markers will include large canvas stars and location data to identify landing fields and repair stations. Prison escape ends with recaptures and cold dash for liberty

Commandant Russell reported that 14 men attempted to escape by swimming to freedom. Four were recaptured last night and the remaining ten were seized today. Several of the escapees were nearly frozen as they tried to reach safety.
