Wenton New Jersey March 199 Post midn ight session of the State senate confirmed Democratic Governor A Harry Moore's nomination of four commissioners to control race and pari mutuel betting. A bipartisan commission was authorized by the Republican dominated Legislature after months of wranglings. Louis A Reilly Newark Democrat will be chairman and continue as State Commissioner of Banking and Insurance. Joseph A Brophy Democrat former mayor of Elizabeth. William H Cane Hackensack Republican leader in Harness racing at Goshen New York. John R Rogers Maplewood Republican former Internal Revenue Collector for North Jersey. Moore signed the racing betting bill last night after the faction split G P controlled Legislature. The law was made possible by a referendum last June mending an 1897 constitutional gambling ban to allow pari mutuel wagering.

Sleep Tablets Prove Fatal in Sharon Rooming House Death

Sharon March 15. An overdose of sleeping tablets apparently caused the death of G. H. Jenkins foreman at Bell Telephone Sharon office. Coroner James A. Biggins said Jenkins, who had sent a suit to be pressed, was found dead after an employee returned with it.

Mc Cleary Convicted in Post Office Robbery and Hazard Raid

Marshall County jurors found Mc Cleary guilty of robbing the Hazard post office and attempting to rob the Roscoe post office.
