Washington reports Senator Gooding of Idaho said a subpoena will be issued for Governor John Fisher of Pennsylvania to testify before the Senate coal investigation committee. Fisher criticized the committee, and Gooding said the Senate will want Fisher to explain his attack on the panel. Governor Fisher proposed a general conference of bituminous coal interests to settle the soft coal strike and secure fair wages and fuel prices. He urged representatives from all bituminous states, labor, production, public authority, Congress, and the executive branch to meet to end the region’s economic struggle.

A missing identied man known as Slim, about BA years, died at 7:15 am at the Diamond Glass ware plant from drinking canned heat and rubbing alcohol. James Mathews, Slim’s companion, is held for investigation after being found sleeping with him. John D. Richards found the body at 6:30 am and alerted authorities. Coroner Dr Fred St Clair ruled death from canned heat and rubbing alcohol poisoning.

Submarine 84 Raised at Charlestown Navy Yard
