Funeral Services for Jesse Coldren in Brownsville

Brownsville Pa. funeral services will be held Wednesday for Jesse Coldren 78 retired Brownsville High School teacher and local historian. He taught in Brownsville schools 49 years. He died yesterday at his home. The Navy reported a Vanguard rocket test at Cape Canaveral successful with a small satellite launched and entering orbit. Washington. Dr. John P. Hagen, director of Project Vanguard, said the new earth satellite should stay aloft for about ten years. He suggested orbiting a satellite as far as the moon could be the next logical step, though he offered no timeline. The Navy will focus on larger satellites, with seven more attempts using 20 inch and 20% pound spheres and a 13 inch plastic globe. Hagen praised Vanguard’s reliability and said its stages could support more advanced developments, including lunar-orbit vehicle tests.
