Washington March 18 President Truman signed legislation to extend the national synthetic liquid fuels program for three years. The measure authorizes another 30 million dollars, with 1 million set for research to recover more petroleum from depleted and stripper fields, renewing the five year effort focused on coal and oil shale derived fuels.
