Funeral services for Joseph E Parrell, prominent Indiana citizen, who died in Pinehurst, North Carolina, will be held at his home 231 South Sixth Street Saturday at 1 30 p m. The Rev Dr Frederick W Hinitt will lead proceedings with burial in Oakland Cemetery. Born March 1 1876 in Lyken s Pa he began in Houtzdale then taught school before turning to insurance. He formed Parnell Cowher Co in Patton in 1885 before moving to Indiana in 1909.

Samuel Mandrella, a coal miner from Charles Indiana County, is held to answer a felonious shooting with attempt to murder after a duel with Joe Jarman. Jarman died from chest wounds at Memorial Hospital Johnstown. Mandrella remains in serious condition at Lee Homeopathic Hospital with no statement since admission. Warrant issued by Squire C. McLain. Blairsville March 16. Andy Kadorcheck a coal miner of Brenizer was killed today when caught under a fall of slate in the Brenizer mines of Westmoreland Mining Company. Domestic Tragedy, Wife Killed by Husband Then Suicide

Wedding Plans Ended by Jail Arrest of Young Couple
Butler Pennsylvania March 14. Walter Weil 22 and Dorothy Campbell 14 were jailed after a late night arrest at Weilands home in Valencia. They had planned to marry despite parental opposition. A statewide search had been underway for the pair who were said to have abducted a girl from a Roxbury Maryland school earlier in the week. Dorothy said she wanted to marry Weil and that nothing else could be done. Weilands said they tried to wed prior but Dorothy prevented it. Dorothy is the daughter of Mrs. Catherine Ward who is described as mentally unbalanced.
