New Solicitor Named White Township Adopts Budget

At the recent supervisors meeting the township budget was adopted as proposed with no changes. Alan Holsinger was appointed township solicitor to fill the unexpired term of J Murray Butterbaugh, effective March 15. Highland Cable Corp rep spoke on cable TV prospects. no franchise action taken. Route 119 South traffic adjustments and Open Space Program moves discussed. Project 7 funding to be local data gathered. Industrial and commercial sewer rates approved. Borough sewer billing shifts to township quarterly starting April 1. Planning commission recommendations for re circulation and traffic movement along Route 119 South to Route 422 West approved unanimously. Local land use at Indian Springs Park to be studied for recreation versus other uses. College Lodge Road signage installed per highway specs. Yield signs added at Warren Road Shade Wood Village entrance.

President to Outline Voting Plan in Selma Picketing

President to outline a voting plan amid round the clock picketing for federal intervention in Selma Alabama. Earlier a large Lafayette Park rally near the White House accompanied a weekend of talks with Governor George Wallace. Johnson said he told Wallace he understands Negro citizens denied the right to register and to participate in governance.
