The House will take up important data amid final action on an emergency portion of Governor Earle's tax program as the session proceeds and unions are a focus of upcoming measures.
WARRISBURG March 15. A vote on registration to wipe company unions out of existence is set for Monday and final action Tuesday as part of Gov. Earle tax measures. The bill bars employer interference in unions, imposes fines up to 500 dollars and up to six months in jail, and contrasts with the governor’s labor program.
Rep Bulwinkle of North Carolina says he will demand inspection of the American Federation of Utility Investors books. He questions Magill, president, and Wendell Willkie about alleged solicitations from utility stock investors and contributions to a lobbying effort. Magill plans to oppose the measure and seek committee permission to testify next week.

Wiley Bost attempted a second stratosphere flight in the Winnie Mae from Union Air Terminal Los Angeles at 6:00 am heading east toward Columbus and New York. The Lockheed aircraft powered by a Pratt Whitney Wasp engine climbed rapidly and will pass 10 miles south of Chicago on a course to Floyd Bennett Field. Bost plans to reach New York in under seven hours using radio aided navigation and upper altitude guidance. He said weather should be ideal with 30 to 60 mile tailwinds aiding the journey and thanked his wife and manager before takeoff. The engine had been overhauled after a prior failure caused by steel filings.

In Pittsburgh and Scranton reports, Bardolph and Friedman were found guilty of conspiracy to defraud the Franklin Savings and Trust Company, facing up to two years in jail and fines up to 5 million dollars. Separate verdicts saw Metin Cumbler acquitted, while Hartzell faced a not guilty ruling on related charges.
Washington dispatch reports President Roosevelt poised for Senate victory as Wagner leads revolt against the McCarran amendment to the $4.88 billion relief bill. Russell substitute would allow wage discretion on nonbuilding relief, while preserving prevailing wages on federal buildings. Labor leaders fear favoritism. Surviving: his England-based mother, widow, four daughters, and four grandchildren. Harrisburg report shows since January 18 Earle administration removed nearly 276 state payroll workers, with over 200 from Highway Department, 22 public health nurses dismissed, total dismissals 325 and 62 new appointments. Resignations totaled 62 and 10 retired. pay ranged from 900 to 8500 dollars yearly.
San Francisco dispatch reports Al Capone served five days in a dungeon on Alcatraz after a fistfight with a fellow prisoner in the prison work shop. Warden James A. Johnson declined to confirm the rumor, stating Capone is not now in solitary confinement. The assailant reportedly broke his own wrist delivering the blow in self defense.

Closing programs today will end the 14th annual Eastern Music Supervisors' conference with elections this afternoon and a final evening concert featuring an all conference choir of 400. A high school vocal contest wraps the competitive events as social activities climax with a reunion banquet and ball. About 900 music directors and teachers from 10 northeastern states, the District of Columbia, and two Canadian provinces heard addresses by 11 former conference presidents.
