Admits Slayings To Police Boy Admits Killing Parents and Brothers
A 17 year old Newport New Hampshire high school student admitted to police that he killed his parents and two brothers because he believed they would be better off dead. He was returned from Concord to Newport for a closed Juvenile Court hearing. He described killing Peter and Charles in separate rooms then shooting his mother as she arrived home and finally killing his father who tried to flee. He said he sought medical help after the killings and was taken into custody.

Powers Greeted At Home In Virginia
SU2 pilot Francis Gary Powers returned to his native Virginia, visiting Pound to see his parents and shop in Norton for a new suit. Trio Escapes After Night as Store Hostages
PONTIAC Mich AP A Montgomery Ward store manager L M Gillain 58 his wife Blanche 53 and son Donald 15 escaped unharmed after a terror filled night as hostages of three gunmen in an abortive robbery. Police said two gunmen were believed trapped in a swampy field in Waterford Township with officers combing the area. A third man fled from the Gillain home Sunday night.
