Walter Critchlow of Wheaton Illinois patents a new VIX Vapor Humidifier and Gas Saver model for engines claiming high mileage gains across autos and trucks. He cites Ford tests of 34 miles per gallon and 72 miles per gallon with other makes showing improved efficiency, and offers to supply demonstrations upon request.
A church meeting featured a lifting of a chorus note and a strong altar service after the hour with children. Dr Hamilon delivered a powerful sermon and many accepted Christ as savior. Tonight is Sunday School night with teachers and scholars urged to attend. Tomorrow night marks High School night with more plans for the week.

The Plaza from Indiana defeated Johnstown in the opening game of a three game set for the Indiana and Cambria counties championship. At a hearing before Equire t Walter TN Jackson yesterday afternoon, Pete Dinigichil of Clymer posted bail for a future appearance. Rev. Dessidius Dubay of the Clymer Greek Catholic Church testified that Dinigichil attacked him and acted drunk and disorderly.

Homer Welch directed music with Hamilton. Rev. John S. Scott delivered the principal paper on "The Church" and 33 ministers attended, hosted by Rev. Ling of Homer City.
The New York Stock Exchange suspended all business for two and a half hours at 12 30 to mourn William Howard Taft. The session shortened and markets showed heavy fluctuations with oil and steel shares leading gains and large blocks changing hands amid widespread selling. Gains were seen in Atlantic Refining and Standards shares while United States Steel and American and Foreign Power faced selling pressure. Cotton and grain futures softened as call money rose to 4 percent.

Rescue crews found five men on the mine cars able to reach a flame-free shaft entry. They encountered three other miners en route to the surface. Gas buildup fed by the shafts powered the fast moving fire, forcing rescuers to rely on gas masks and oxygen tanks to combat the smokey conditions.
The funeral of William Howard Taft is described as a national moment with a military escort. Army Navy Marine units carry the casket from his residence on Wyoming Avenue to Arlington Cemetery, drawn by six horses, while bands and a large service escort march in the spring air, echoing the past 31 years since his oath as the nation’s twenty-seventh president.

The King Leather Goods Manufacturing Company grew from a 1904 Pittsburgh venture to expanded Indiana operations by 1927, with 50,000 tire capacity at McCreary plant and new North Tenth Street facilities. The Robinsteen Collar and Leather Co. on East Philadelphia street employs about 20 for horse collars, distributing to PA, OH, NY, DE, MD, WV.
