Zangara Sentenced To Death In Electric Chair
Italian bricklayer Giuseppe Zangara was sentenced to death for first degree murder in the shooting of Chicago Mayor Anton J. Cermak during a Roosevelt welcome in Miami. Judge Aly Thompson ordered execution in the electric chair at Raiford prison. date to be set by Governor Dave Shultz. Zangara showed no emotion, smiled as guards escorted him out, declaring in defiance that he wanted to kill all presidents and rulers for money. McQuaide Lad Dies of Burns in Indiana Hospital
John Borland McQuaide aged two years six months son of Mr and Mrs Lawrence T McQuaide of the Nast Pike died in Indiana Hospital this morning from burns suffered Tuesday when a kettle of scalding water overturned in the McQuaide kitchen. Survived by parents two brothers Lawrence Jr and Robert Clark and two sisters Patricia and Roseann. Private funeral at home Saturday evening with interment Sunday in Greensburg cemetery.

Police report part of the sixty thousand dollar ransom paid for Charles Boettcher’s release is in police hands. Captain William J. Armstrong said he took the money from Frank Sankey, brother of Verne Sankey, linked to the gang. The ransom was paid after Boettcher was held 17 days at a turkey ranch near Mitchell D. D. The car used by Sankey and Gordon Alcorn after the release was found near the ranch, bullet ridden. C. W. Pearce, a war veteran, pleaded not guilty to federal kidnapping charges.
