Death of Mrs Barbara Gibson in Hastings home

Mrs Barbara Walter Gibson, widow of Samuel Gibson, died Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 in the Johnston home at 1254 Washington Street. Born February 26, 1840, she had lived in Salisbury and Creekside and most recently with her daughter and son-in-law, the Johnsons. She attended Center Presbyterian Church at Creekside for years. funeral Friday at 5 PM in the Johnston home, Rev. Kiern and Rev. Tredenek W Hinitt officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.

Fire Claims Life Of Two Children At Sunshine

A 12 year old boy and his eight month old sister perished in a house fire at Sunshine Croyle township near Johnstown. Four others were hospitalized, two families left destitute as John Cekalla and Anna Cekalla worked to salvage what remained. The blaze destroyed the home and furnishings valued at about 5000 dollars.

Missing White Township farmer vanishes after store visit

A search for William Watterson, about 50 and a well known White Township farmer, failed to locate him after he left home to obtain insurance information. He was seen at Kerr's store on Ninth Street and none of the leads or hospital checks yielded results. Authorities and 386 Boy Scouts joined a renewed search, with no sign of his whereabouts. Police ask for any information via the sheriff or above contacts.

Blairsville Boy Andy Ambrose Dies After Auto Collision

Blairsville reports the death of Andy Ambrose age five years after being struck on the Morewood Avenue bridge by a car driven by Dr Rebecca Fowler. He died yesterday at Indiana Hospital from a skull fracture and multiple injuries. An inquest will be held Friday at 10:80 o clock. He is survived by his parents four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services set for Saturday morning.

Powder blast injures two at DuPont plant

In Carneys Point New Jersey two Pennsville men Howard Whitesell and Gilbert Whitesell were hurt when about 3000 pounds of powder ignited while unloading from a continuous dryer on the second floor of the dry house at the DuPont powder plant. Howard Whitesell was badly burned and reported dying in the plant hospital while Gilbert Whitesell is seriously burned but expected to recover.

Ford Manager Killed by Auto in Pittsburgh

Nelbough a 40 year old Ford Motor Company district manager died in a hospital after an automobile crash in Pittsburgh. Miss Jane Eastman 28 and Gerald Johnson 38 were injured when the car struck a cement safety island.

Children Defy Court Over Separated Parents Custody

In Altoona March, Arthur Walters, 10, and brother Jesse, sons of George Walters, defied a court order seeking to split custody after their parents separated.
