Giuseppe Zangara, the Italian anarchist who shot Mayor Anton J. Cermak in an assassination attempt on President Roosevelt, pleaded guilty today to one of two counts of first degree murder. He admitted killing Cermak. the second count for premeditation was withdrawn. The death penalty or life imprisonment will be decided after trial.
