Police Chief Dad Orders Son Arrest in Narcotics Case
In San Clemente California police chief Clifford Murrey ordered his son Steven Murrey arrested on heroin and marijuana charges after detectives and state narcotics agents found about one dose of heroin and 1 1/2 pounds of marijuana. The son, living at home, was arraigned and held for trial in Superior Court. The chief said he had to enforce the law impartially and had assigned detectives to investigate the case. The mother and father and the family spoke of the tension and distant relations since the arrest.
