Correction of yesterday's note on grand jury true bills

The Gazette reports that C M Ellenberger M J Zamboni J M Tibbot and Clyde Welter were listed as true bills for possessing liquor but these men were not personally charged. They were Moose Lodge officers present during a raid and held for that reason alone. A W Hazlett was named as lodge steward and faced the same charge.

Men s Bible Class Growth At Heilwood Church Meeting

Sixty three members of the Heilwood Presbyterian Church Men s Bible Class held a Thursday evening dinner in the club rooms served by the Laties Ald Society of Heilwood. Speakers praised Sunday School growth from fewer than a dozen to sixty in six weeks and to an overall attendance rise from thirty to about one hundred fifty in four months. Leaders credited Superintendent Blair Muffley and teacher Dr Lyons with inspiring progress, while guest Logan Bence and James Chapman shared messages on character and youth outreach.

Moreau Gets County Job

The Pine township road supervisors awarded a one mile reinforced concrete highway contract from Alverda to the Cambria County line to A F Moreau and Sons of town as low bidders at the Thursday letting in the County Commissioners office. Also awarded was the grading and drainage contract for Cherryhill township from Sample Run to the White and Cherryhill township lines to Smith and Russell of Indiana. These awards, along with others by the Department of Highways, bring the total new road contracts for Indiana county this year to 14 miles, with more to be finished by fall.

Beekeepers' School Teaches Disease Control and Honey Uses

A one day beekeepers school at the Court House drew 25 in the forenoon and 35 in the afternoon sessions. Instructor J Anderson of State College demonstrated with stereopticon slides and a model hive, stressing wiring foundations and three ply brood frame sheets. He spoke on honey in cooking and digestion for sugar-avoiding readers. Plans include demonstrations on foul brood transfer April 18 near Plumville at 10 AM, Spring Management at Donald Moorhead’s Sleepy Hollow apiary at 1:30 PM, and Package Bee and Queen Introduction at Wm Avey’s Marion Center farm at 4 PM. Companionate Marriage Fails in Chicago Court

Judge Michael McKinley called the terms of Leo Dolan and Virginia Roth Dolan a most outrageous contract. The couple, both 22 and students, signed an agreement prohibiting the wife from seeking support or charging bills in his name until he finishes his education and is admitted to the bar. Dolan lost his $50,000 heart balm suit against his father-in-law as the judge ruled a husband forfeits damages for alienated love when he shirks marital duties.
