Thomas Alexander Cochrane of Pittsburg aged 62 died at his Locust Street home after six weeks of illness from a complication of diseases. A long-serving lieutenant, he began on the force eight years ago as a roundsman and held various posts including wagon driver. Known for lamp-lighting duties and prisoner transport in wheelbarrows he was beloved by his men at Allegheny station. Born in Saltsburg, he lived in Manchester, leaves a widow Sarah, daughter Elizabeth Hughey, two sons Maxwell and T A Jr, and a sister Jane Huffman of Vandergrift.
