Armagh Fire Dept Announces Open House and Fund Drive
The Armagh East Wheatfield Township Volunteer Fire Department will display its new 500 gallon pumper and other equipment at an open house today and Sunday. The event at the fire hall includes viewing times, a March 13 dinner at the Indiana Elks Lodge, and a door to door fund drive beginning March 15 to help cover costs. Officers to be installed March 19 include Blaine Hepner as president and Craig Fry Jr. as vice president among others.

Man Held For Court On Charges At IUP Dorms
A 20 year old New Kensington man Joseph Frederick McKelvey was bound over for court on multiple charges from Jan 31 incidents in Lawrence and Shafer dormitories at IUP. He faces four counts of indecent assault one of indecent exposure and one of possession of a controlled substance plus earlier charges of indecent assault indecent exposure and two counts of criminal trespass. All charges come from IUP campus security and he is free on 5500 bond.

Band Concert Set For Sunday At Fisher Auditorium
Indiana University of Pennsylvania Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band, directed by Daniel DiCicco, will present a 3 p.m. concert Sunday March 7 in Fisher Auditorium. The Wind Ensemble performs Soundpieces and Scenes for 10 wind instruments in three movements. The Symphony Band plays a suite of old American dances and a symphony for band. Admission is free and open to the public.

Man Injured In One Car Accident
An area man, Elderton resident Glen Walter, 25, was injured in a one car crash early today. He is in fair condition at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning after losing control on Route 422 west of Elderton and striking an embankment. damage estimated at 400 dollars. A second crash in Punxsutawney involved Rhonda Adams, 24, and Larry Evans, 25, with damages around 600 dollars. Adams rear ended Evans on Findlay Street. Both drivers reported uninjured.

Unfair Labor Charges Filed by BEA Teachers
BEAVER FALLS PA AP The Blackhawk Education Association representing 200 teachers says it filed unfair labor practice charges against the school board. Teachers had a 41 day strike earlier this year and returned Jan 18 after a tentative contract. BEA says the board has not written or signed a formal contract and harasses BEA members, with a potential slander suit if harassment continues.

Two Men Arrested On Dope Charges
Two men face drug charges in Pennsylvania. Randy Eugene Smay, 20, of Burnside, was arrested by Trooper Max Camp for selling about 30 grams of marijuana on Nov 15 1975 in Banks Township Indiana County. He was arraigned before District Magistrate Geraldine Wilkins and posted $5000 bail. Barry Lee of Luceme Mines was held for court after a preliminary hearing on possession of marijuana. he posted $500 bond after an incident Jan 30 in Blairsville, per Blairs ville Borough police.
