59ers Trip To Alaska Hindered
ANGOLA IN AP The Alaska bound 69ers from Detroit faced a rough first day of their 4300 mile journey as a midwestern snow storm slowed travel up to 50 mph winds and eight inches of snow in parts of Wisconsin Illinois and nearby states. The caravan of 13 men 10 women and 14 children planned to reach the Kenai Peninsula within three weeks to homestead 160 acres each though delays forced an overnight stop at Pokagon State Park.
