An application filed with Lancaster County Court seeks a charter for the Pennsylvania German Society. Directors named include Governor John S. Fisher and Ralph Beaver Strassburger with other prominent signers from Philadelphia Allentown Reading and Lancaster. The group aims to study Pennsylvania German history language folklore biography genealogy and the settler heritage. The society organized in Lancaster in 181 and currently compiles names of about 60 000 colonial German immigrants with facsimile signatures and issues proceedings and proverbs volumes.

Cantilla and Powell were in custody when charged, Cantilla jailed on a liquor sentence and Powell at Western Penitentiary for highway robbery. Police Superintendent Peter Walsh barred a Communist led march protesting unemployment conditions across the district. Val Devine, district organizer, said the Communists would defy the ban and stage the parade, urging participation despite the refusal of a permit.
Four alleged Communists were arrested at industrial plants in the city for distributing incendiary handbills to workers. In Vienna marked by a clash at Vienna University first blood in world wide demonstrations was drawn as Reds stormed the campus. police charged the rioters injuring about twenty students and bystanders.
The court received True Bills from the March Grand jury on its second day, charging Carl Baker with false pretenses, J. P. Pitzpatrick with embezzlement, Albert Reed and Leo Oswald with rape, Charles Sarnosky with rape and pointing firearms, BR Dickey with cheating lodging house keeper, Hugh Collins and Cyrus King with statute rape, Antonio Chasciere with aggravated assault and battery and felonious shooting, and L. M. Walker with drawing worthless checks, plus Baker forgery.
Frank R. Kunzler 56 superintendent of the Corliss Station of the Pittsburgh post office, with over 30 years service, was suspended after inspectors found a reported shortage of just over 600 dollars in his postal accounts. Charges were filed and he was released on a 1000 dollar bond.
Harry Adams aged 20 of West Elizabeth was killed early today while stealing a ride on a freight car on the Pennsylvania Railroad. He slipped while riding the rods and was crushed under the wheels at Jones Crossing West Elizabeth.
London March 6 The Bank of England reduced its rediscount rate from 4 percent to four percent at a weekly directors meeting. The move was anticipated by many and drew no surprise from financial leaders.
