Fayette-Greene Coal Producers Hold Key Session

About 300 to 400 coal and coke operators gathered in Uniontown Pennsylvania for a major Fayette Greene Coal Producers Association meeting. U S Senator David A Reed traveled from Washington to address the group and discuss freight rate concerns viewed as discriminatory. Other speakers included Charles O Neil Harry L Gandy and W H Donner at a banquet to close the event.

Marie Lambert to Become Bride of Dorsey Walker

Miss Marie Lambert of 345 Vine Street Johnstown will wed Dorsey L Walker in an early spring ceremony. A luncheon and 500 party at Fort Stanwix Hotel honored her with guests including Gladys Lambert Ruth Miller and Edna Walker. Walker is employed by Penn Public Service and has lived in the city recently.

Vare Seeks Senate Seat In Wet Plank Bid

Philadelphia political maneuvering centers on Henry Vare as he aims for a Senate seat on the wet plank. He rails against the defeated brewery bill, hopes Pinchot runs, and works ward by ward to consolidate support, arguing the dry split would aid his candidacy.

Forged Checks Lead Juvenile to Parole After Court

Philip Santag of Avonmore pleaded guilty in Greensburg Juvenile Court to forging two First National Bank of Avonmore checks for twenty five dollars each. One was cashed, the other stopped. Paroled for two years to Avonmore custodian W J Zimmerman, case notes a woman enticed him into forging. The court predicts another arrest may follow. An American Legion banquet in Avnory drew an estimated crowd of over a hundred with Lt. Col. McCoy, Blairsville, and other officials speaking. The event featured music by the Trianon Orchestra and performances by local entertainers.

Allen Co. Capacity Show Features Entertaining Musical Comedy

Allen Co. drew a capacity crowd with a polished musical comedy evening in Indiana. A lively cast including Honey Streams, Master Billy Barr, Wayne McNaughton, Joe Cannazaro, Agnes Alexander, and Jonney and Kenney Walker delivered singing and dancing with stylish costumes and a graceful chorus. Jonney and Kenney Walker won first prize in the Charleston contest, followed by Master Billy Barr and Honey Streams. Tonight the Allen Company returns with King of the Movies while Harry Carey appears in The Prairie Pirate.

Inquest Held Over Death of Harry Conrad

An inquest at Blacklick addressed the death of Harry Conrad who died after stepping into a hot water pit at the Mc Kinney Steel Company yard. He fell while walking with Chester Dodson on railroad tracks near Bell's Mills mine in Grafs Coal Company. Conrad was rushed to Indiana Hospital where he died next morning. He leaves a wife and six children. funeral services will be held at his parents Blacklick home and interment at Armagh Cemetery.

Perelman states that those owing him can pay at the home of Mrs Ellsworth Sickenberger or at Y Falconer store and receive receipts for bills. Upon opening the safe it was found all accounts were undamaged. He wishes to close store accounts quickly.

Musical Program at Colored Church in Indiana

Sunday at 3 pm the Christian Church Orchestra led by Milo Butts performs at the colored church at Water and Second. The 15 member ensemble offers orchestral selections plus string and brass solos as well as male vocal quartet and other vocal groups. An offering supports the newly established Colored Church. Miss Emma Bergman of Livermore is a guest in the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Compton. Miss Anna Laughlin departs for Pittsburgh to spend the weekend with relatives.
