Four to five years of housing shortage threatens local families who may move to other towns with similar schools. Salvation Army will occupy the third floor of Hildebrand's drug store building in Indiana. Gazette notes about a dozen rental houses available this spring.
Prominent church figures from United Presbyterian and Reformed boards will head the Indiana mission conference. Daniel Braughler of Tiffin Ohio serves as team leader. he brings extensive conference and mission campaign experience. Ministers Sabbath School officers and teachers are urged to attend and invite their congregations.
A matinee in Indiana drew an unprecedented audience despite expectations. The performance impressed most of the crowd with perfect scenery including falling snow and floating ice, while the company’s acting was largely praised. The troupe then moved to Vandergrift for the evening show. A parade featured a Great Dane bloodline, the patriarch died after a dog fight in Middletown. The tiger Dane, weighing 200 pounds and valued at 300 dollars, died from blood poisoning after being bitten. The company mourned the loss, with several members moved to tears.

Former residents report that the glass plant operations will continue with no effect on other employees. A successor to Mr Dugan as president is expected to be elected soon. The Dugan Glass Company may petition the court to change its corporate name to better advertise Lonaconing and the glass business. Mr Dugan, living at the Episcopal parsonage on East Main street, has not decided his future but plans to resume glass work and stay in Lonaconing for now.
The Grand Army of the Republic plans its last large review in Detroit Michigan with Col Palmer leading the procession as part of elaborate arrangements. Indiana Post No 28 members expect about 26 attendees highlighting the thinning blue line and national holiday rhetoric about military readiness.

In Haven March 6 coroner Devi Mix ordered continued autopsy work on Lillian Cook after an initial finding of suicide by bullet to the heart. The coroner said new findings require questions to be posed to associates and relatives, while Frank Cook demanded to see his daughter's body to determine if any wrong occurred.
Washington reports the German embassy statement denying that American ships Evelyn and Carib were directed into mine fields by a British officer. Ambassador Gerard said naval officers in Berlin received captain statements claiming both ships simply struck mines while navigating.
London reports Vice Admiral Sir John Jellicoe promoted to admiral and Admiral Sir Hedward Meaz appointed admiral of the fleet in his stead. The home fleet command shift came as a moments surprise to observers.
