Miner Fatally Injured in Slate Fall at Intandale

Nilfendale miner Louis Fred, about 25, was fatally injured yesterday afternoon when slate collapsed in the Intandale mine. He was trapped under the fall, removed by fellow workers, and rushed to the surface where Dr. McFarland attended. Despite rapid treatment, he died as rescue efforts continued.
