W J Hicks of Trade City died February 27 after bladder trouble. Born July 1 1862 near Davidaville he farmed the Hicks homestead, ran a general store with son Lawrence, and was a longtime Lutheran church and Sunday School supporter. Survived by widow and eight children, one brother, twenty nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
