SIOUX CITY Iowa March 1 The death toll in the Mid-Continent Airlines DC-3 crash near the airport rose to sixteen with Archie McKillop of Artesian South Dakota dying in a hospital from third degree burns. Nine others survived as Civil Aeronautics Authority inspectors opened a full investigation. The plane plunged into a snow bound cornfield in a blazing fire, the worst crash in Iowa aviation history. Pilot Captain James Graham and co pilot Philip K Toler both of Kansas City and first officer E F Leibert of Overland Park Kansas were killed. Stewardess Marilyn Woodjure of Kansas City was hospitalized with severe injuries. Two of the ten injured were in critical condition.
