U S Steel to Erect 64 Story Triangle Tower in Pittsburgh
U S Steel plans a 841 foot triangular 64 story headquarters in downtown Pittsburgh, to be the nation’s tallest outside New York and Chicago. The building will include a 450 seat auditorium, ground and top floor restaurants, a rooftop heliport, a three level underground garage for 650 cars, and 18 exposed columns. Half the space will house U S Steel, with remaining offices for lease, on a three acre site bounded by Sixth Seventh Grant and Bigelow. Completion is targeted for early 1970.

Art prize awarded but banned work not displayed
Chicago Art Institute awarded a 1500 second prize in its 70th annual Chicago and vicinity show but will not display the winning piece titled Events. An institute spokesman called the painting too far out, citing its depiction of sexual symbols. The work was returned to Leanne Shreves of Knoxville Til, while 23 other prize works and about 40 more were displayed from 1227 entries.

Millions Infected With TB Probe Aims At Control
Dr Dressler in Los Angeles said tuberculin tests should be given to whole generations of school children to control tuberculosis. He and other officials noted about twenty five million Americans are infected but active cases remain low. Dr Graban of Erie County NY Health Department said the testing and reporting system shows no real rise in TB. Dr Dressler cited the fifty thousand new active TB cases yearly as mostly among people who would have contracted the disease anyway.
